Safety initiatives

Based on a clear safety policy, we at Shimanami Co., Ltd. strive to ensure that our company is prioritizing safety, and all staff will implement this in-house. Furthermore, we aim to clarify the responsibility system and standards for implementing the operations of our passenger and recreational boats used safely, properly and smoothly, and work to ensure the safety of our customers' transportation.

2. Safety initiatives implemented

2-1. Regarding flight decisions

The captain must make a timely decision on whether or not the operation will be possible, and when it deems that the weather and sea conditions have reached certain conditions or there is a risk that it will reach them, it must take measures to cancel the operation.

All of our passenger ships have enrolled in the passenger injury liability insurance, which is mandatory for passenger transportation by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, as follows:

Our company is an authorized operator of the Shikoku Transport Bureau, and operates in accordance with the basic principles of safety, based on the guidance of the Shikoku Transport Bureau and maritime agents, complying with relevant laws and regulations and internal regulations.
