We read the scenery of the Shimanami Kaido as "Shimanami Scenes."

Iwagi Island and Ikuna Island
Iwaki Bridge

As you gasp and pedal along the cable-stayed bridge, which is 916m long and 137m high of the main tower, and increase the altitude, the spectacular view will quickly open up. Iwaki Island, Ikuna Island, Ikuguchi Island, Innoshima, Sashima, Akone Island... A 360-degree view of the beautiful islands floating in the sparkling sea of archipelago, from the top 45m above the sea, this is the best viewing point of the Yumeshima Kaido! However, it is 5%, which is comparable to the Ejima Ohashi Bridge (slope 6%), a border between Tottori and Shimane, which is famous for its "steady step-down slopes"! Iwaki Bridge, which is a slope that stands above the Yumeshima Kaido, is also one of the most difficult places to go.
Takai Kamijima
Takai Kamijima

After 30-40 minutes on board a passenger ship from Yuge Port, we headed to Takai Kamijima, which is floating in the Hatsunada. Although it is approximately 1.3 m2, it is towering a peak with an altitude of 257m, and 11 residents live on an island with a steep slope of an average slope of 35 degrees. The Yumeshima Kaido, where the island is between the Shijo, has completely changed, and the view of the Hidana Nada from Takai Kamishima is very prone to a remote island. However, the island's village is very crowded with the protagonists of manga art who decorate the walls.

Uojima
Shinozuka area

Just 15 minutes from Takaikamijima, the Yumeshima Kaido started from Iwakijima, and finally made it to Uojima, the easternmost point. Although it is roughly the same area as Takai Kamijima, it has a population of approximately 110 people. There are also offices and police stations, and when four liners arrive a day, the cargo is bustling with landing and other things. As the name suggests, it is a fishing island. Among them, octopus fishing is popular, and the sight of octopus piling up at the harbor is a tradition on the island. The Shinozuka village is home to many legends related to Shinozuka Iga Mori Shigehiro, one of Nitta Yoshisada's four heavenly kings, from Shinozuka (Ourakucho, Gunma Prefecture). There is also a theory that the battle at Seta Castle (near Imabari) as also recorded in the Taiheiki, when Shinozuka Igamori retreated due to a fall, but escaped from Imabari by boat was Uoshima.
