We have compiled a list of the questions we often receive from customers.

1. About road stations in general
What time is opening hours? Are there any regular holidays?

It varies depending on the facility. For more information, please see the page for each road station.
We also have temporary closures and shortened business hours, so please check the notices at any time.

Can I make a reservation at a restaurant?

If you make a reservation, you will need to decide on the menu in advance for 5 people.
*If everyone would like a different menu, it may take some time to serve.

Please make a reservation using one to two menus depending on the number of people.
*Reservations are not accepted during busy seasons such as New Year's, Golden Week, and Obon.

Do restaurants and Ikiikikan BBQs need to be booked?

Even if you have not made a reservation, we will show you to your seat on a first-come, first-served basis on the day.

Is parking free?

Parking is free.

*Please be careful as we cannot be held responsible for theft or accident.

Can the bus be stopped?

There is also a bus parking lot. Depending on the reservation situation, it may be crowded, so please contact us in advance if you plan to park.

Is there any means of transportation?

The main means of transportation are either private cars, express buses and island buses, or taxis, rental cars, and bicycles.

Are there barrier-free toilets available?

It is attached to the on-site toilet.

I would like to book a rental bicycle.

Reservations for general bicycle rentals are accepted at the bicycle rental terminal adjacent to each road station.

Are there any perks?

Are there coin lockers at roadside stations?

Yes, they are available at each road station. For details on location, please see the PDF file below.

2. About Yoshiumiikiikikan Roadside Station
Can I book a barbecue at Yoshiumiikiikikan?

Reservations are available. Reservations can be made via email, or telephone. Please reserve only seats or choose in advance from the set menu.

*Reservations can be made for two people or more.

Is it possible to bring ingredients, seasonings, and drinks to the Yoshiumiikiikikan barbecue?

We apologize, but we do not accept any returns. (This does not apply to baby food.)

Can I have a barbecue even in the rain?

We have a barbecue under the tent, so it's fine even if it rains.

Is it hot/cold because it's outdoors?

We have a blindfold or a fan when it's hot, and a cold protection curtain or heating when it's cold.

Is it okay to bring pets to the barbecue at Yoshiumiikiikikan?

Pets are available. However, please note that advance reservations are not accepted. Please come to the store on the day and we will inform you if there are any available seats available for pets.

3. About Tatara Shimanami Park, Roadside Station
Would you like to bring your pet to a restaurant or shop?

As a general rule, pets are not allowed in restaurants or kiosks.

*Guide dogs are allowed to enter the store.
*Outdoor restaurant seats (terrace seats) are available, but please be careful to other customers.

Can I sleep in the car in the parking lot? Are there any facilities such as showers?

As the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism believes that roadside stations are resting facilities, they are not allowed to use the facility in public spaces such as parking lots for accommodation purposes. Of course, roadside stations are rest facilities that can be used free of charge for drivers and others to prevent traffic accidents, so it is okay to take a nap in the parking lot. Outdoor toilets are open 24 hours a day, but there are no facilities such as showers.

*If you are parking for a long time, please take care to other customers at the edges as much as possible.
*Please be careful as we cannot be held responsible for theft or accident.
*Please take any garbage home.
*Please refrain from camping, setting up a tent, bonfires, barbecues, etc.

4. About the Shimanami Kurishima Strait Sightseeing Boat
Please tell me the departure times and the good times of whirlpools.

It varies depending on the season, but generally operates every 60 to 75 minutes during business hours. Please check the web reservation page for detailed times

*The flights may change or cancel depending on weather.

Are there any holidays?

The closing days and operating hours will be based on the closing days and opening hours of the roadside station Yoshiumiikiikikan.

How long does the Shimanami Kurishima Strait Sightseeing Boat operate?

The boarding time is approximately 45-50 minutes.

*Please complete the boarding procedure at the roadside station Yoshiumiikiikikan at least 30 minutes before departure.

Are there any discounts for boarding?

Group discounts are available. (10% off boarding fees for 10 or more people)

In addition, although this is not a discount for boarding fees, we will give you a discount coupon that can be used at a later date when you present or submit a JAF card or Seto Mare ticket. For details, please see the PDF file below.

Can I make a reservation?

Reservations can be made for two people. Each ship has a capacity of 42 people. For groups with a capacity or above, please contact us by phone or email.

Is it necessary to make a reservation?

Even if you have not made a reservation, the flights are open for two people, so if there are any seats available, you can board the boat on the day.

*If there are even one person who will be boarding, you can ride by carpooling.

How do I make a reservation?

Online reservations, phone or fax can be made.

Can children also board the boat?

There is no age limit for boarding. Infants and small children are asked to board the boat at their own risk.

Will it operate even if it rains? Will there be a chance that the flight will be cancelled?

We will operate even in the rain. Kappa is available for free from the port.

*If a safe voyage is hindered by heavy rain, strong winds, heavy snowfall, lightning, dense fog, or typhoons that cannot be seen in front of you, the flight may be cancelled on the day.

Will it get wet?

As the boat does not have windows, it may cause rain or tide depending on the weather on the day. In the event of rain, we offer free rental of kappa at the port.

Is it cold?

Since it is cold in winter, we offer free rental of cold weather clothing such as bench coats.
In early spring and late autumn, if you go out offshore, it may feel chilly due to the sea breeze, so you may prefer a warm outfit.

Can I bring my luggage with me?

It is possible to carry it on your lap. Large luggage, food and drink, firearms, or knives are not permitted.
It may be possible that you will get wet due to rain or tide, so it may be better to put it in your car or in a locker.

Will the ship shake? Do you get seasick?

The size of the tide on the day, the strength of the wind, and the possibility of shaking if a large ship is driving nearby.
If you get sick easily, you may want to drink a throttle.

I'm big, can I wear a life jacket?

Larger sizes are also available. If the items are not available, please contact the captain or guide at the port.

Can I board a wheelchair or stroller?

It is not possible to board or carry the boat in a wheelchair or stroller. Only people will be allowed to board the ship by car or in a harbor.

Can I board the boat with my pet?

Guide dogs can board together. (If there are many, please consult in advance.)
