A magnificent bridge that connects them with the islands scattered across the beautiful sea.
The beauty of the Shimanami Kaido is a blend of rich nature and people's lives, giving us time to relax.
We read the scenery of the Shimanami Kaido as "Shimanami Scenes."

Oshima
Miyakubobashi Dream Park (Other Country)

This park was donated in 2020 by Malaysian banker Hashim, who spent three years building it in his grandmother's hometown. While appreciating the beauty of the Oshima stone itself, you can see the Hakata-Oshima Bridge, the Hakatajima shipyard, Michikajima Island, and Omishima Island. The two parks, each with a rose and Oshima stone motif, are sure to soothe the souls of cyclists cruising around Oshima
Hakata Island
Mokpo Port and the townscape of Mokpo

Before the bridge was built, the Geiyo Islands were crisscrossed with inter-island shipping routes connecting neighboring islands. Hakatajima, located in the center of these islands, was the island with the most shipping routes. Among these, Kinoura Port played the role of a "transportation hub." Shops line the narrow streets and huge ships are moored at the shipyard. The bustle of the past continues to this day

Omishima
Amazaki - Seto and Kojo Island

During spring tides, a sandbar forms around 160m between Kojojima, where the ruins of Amazaki Castle are located, and the sea parts, making it possible to walk across. Beyond Kojojima, you can see the Tatara Bridge and Ikuchijima in the distance, and between Seto Port (Kamiura Port) and Hakatajima on the opposite shore, the fast-flowing Hanakuri Strait, famous for its rapid currents, closes in on you
Ikuguchi Island
Lemon Valley

It is said to be the birthplace of domestic lemons, and after reaching the highest production in Japan in 1963 (Showa 38), Ikuguchi Island has not surrendered its title for about 60 years. On this lemon island, the title "Lemon Valley" is truly a view of the lemon fields that "plough it all the way to the heavens"! As you climb the path that takes you straight to the sky from the seaside outer road, you will be greeted by an elegant terrace. At eye-level, you are overwhelmed by the Tatara Ohashi Bridge extending to Omishima, and relax at the thick greenery of the lemon fields below you. The sun and wind are exposed to your whole body, and your mood is like a lemon!
